Vimieiro or Santana de Vimeiro is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Vimieiro belongs to the district of Braga in the same district Braga . The community had an area of 2.9 km² and 1229 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Vimieiro, Celeirós and Aveleda were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Celeirós, Aveleda e Vimieiro .
