Aveleda are a place and a former municipality in northern Portugal . In parts it already belongs to the closed settlement area of Braga .
history
The present location was first mentioned in a document from 1106. He belonged to the Penafiel de Bastuço district at that time until it was affiliated with Vimieiro in 1220 . From 1320 to 1371 he belonged again to Penafiel de Bastuço, and since then has been part of the Braga district. In 1706 the Aveleda community had 50 households.
In the course of the territorial reform in 2013 , the municipality of Aveleda was dissolved and merged with Vimieiro and Celeirós to form a new municipality.

Aveleda was the seat of a parish of the same name ( Freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of Braga in the Braga district of the same name . The community had an area of 1.9 km² and 2149 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
With the administrative reorganization in Portugal on September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Aveleda, Vimieiro and Celeirós were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Celeirós, Aveleda e Vimieiro .
