Vince Eager (born June 4, 1940 in Grantham , Lincolnshire , England ), actually Roy Taylor , is a British pop musician (guitar and vocals). He was one of the artists Larry Parnes had under contract.

Around 1956, the young Roy Taylor founded the skiffle band "The Vagabonds" with friends . Brian "Liquorice" Locking (bass - later he was a member of the Shadows ), Roy Clark (guitar and vocals) and Mick Fretwell (washboard and drums) were there. They emulated their role model Lonnie Donegan and played his hits. Eventually they even managed to support a Donegan concert.

Larry Parnes became aware of the band during a performance at 2i's Coffee Bar and signed them. As usual, Parnes renamed the front man, Roy Taylor became Vince Eager and the Vagabonds became Vince Eager & the Vagabonds. Between 1958 and 1963, a number of singles were made without a real hit. After a dispute over royalties that had not been paid out, Eager split from Parnes.

In the following years Eager turned to cabaret and theater. He played in the successful musical "Elvis" for five years. In 1986 he moved to America and worked as a director at a cruise company.

In 2001 Eager went on tour again with Big Jim Sullivan and Wee Willie Harris . In 2002 he appeared with Lonnie Donegan , who died shortly afterwards. In 2003 the album Yea! Yea! It's Vince Eager with recordings from 1957 to 2003.
