Vincent Blok

Vincent Blok (* 1970 in The Hague ) is a Dutch philosopher and university professor. He currently teaches as an associate professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Wageningen University .

Live and act

Vincent Blok studied philosophy at the University of Leiden . In 2005 he received his doctorate there on a technical-philosophical topic. From 2002 to 2005 Blok held several positions in health management. In 2006 he became director of the Louis Bolk Institute, an institute devoted to research into ecological, sustainable agriculture, nutrition and health.

Blok's research interests lie on the one hand in the field of philosophy and on the other hand in the field of management research. In the narrower field of philosophy he deals with philosophical methods ( phenomenology , hermeneutics , deconstruction ), as well as with the philosophies of Martin Heidegger and Ernst Jünger . In the field of management research, he deals with topics such as sustainable entrepreneurship and business ethics. He combines both directions in topics such as the philosophy of science, technology, innovation and management.

Blok published his research in journals such as the Journal of Business Ethic , the Journal of Cleaner Production , the Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Ethics , the Journal of the British Society for Phenomenology , the Studia Phasesomenologica, and the Journal of Responsible Innovation .
