Vincenzo Riccati
Vincenzo Riccati (born January 11, 1707 in Castelfranco Veneto , Republic of Venice , † January 17, 1775 in Treviso ) was a mathematician from northern Italy.
Life
He was the second son of Jacopo Riccati (1676–1754). Riccati continued among other things his investigations of differential equations and worked on al-Haitham's problem.
In 1760 he became an honorary member of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Saint Petersburg .
