When Vindbelgjarfjall (529 m), also Vindbelgur or Belgjarfjall called, is a volcanic mountain on the northern shore of Lake Myvatn in the northeast - Iceland .
geology
The volcano Vindbelgjarfjall is part of the volcanic system of the nearby central volcano Krafla .
It is a palagonite cone and was thus formed in one or more eruptions at the same eruption site under an ice age glacier.
hike
A hike of around three quarters of an hour leads from the parking lot at the lake west of the Vagnbrekka farm up the mountain, following a marked hiking trail.
