Vini Vici is an Israeli DJ duo specializing in psytrance music. It was founded in 2013 by producers Aviram Saharai and Matan Kadosh, who were both previously part of the Sesto Sento project .

Career

Vini Vici consists of the two musicians Aviram Saharai and Matan Kadosh. Both come from Afula , a city in northern Israel , and have been working together since the early 2000s, including on the trance project Sesto Sento . At the same time, both producers are active both solo and in other collaboration projects. The intention of the duo to found Vini Vici was to pack old-school sound with new and futuristic ideas. After it was founded, the record label “Iboga Records” and the booking agency “FM Bookings” became aware of the duo. They each signed a contract, after which they came into contact with bigger names in the genre, including Liquid Soul and Captain Hook.

On November 5, 2013, they released their debut release. This took place in the form of a double single, consisting of the songs Divine Mode and Trust in Trance . Since September 2013, however, they have published a number of songs on their SoundCloud account. After a successful start, they followed up with further single releases, all of which brought them into the official Beatport Top 100. At the same time they started live tours with performances all over the world.

In 2015 they released their debut album Future Classics . This moved up to second place on Beatport. At the same time, the trance DJ Armin van Buuren became aware of the duo and presented their single The Tribe on his radio show A State of Trance . At the same time he produced an edit of the song. In the same year they were ranked number one Psytrance interpreter on Beatport and received an award for “Best Selling Track”.

With a remix to the song Free Tibet from the French psytrance project Hilight Tribe , released in spring 2016, they suddenly increased their fan base; within a few months, the track on YouTube reached 15 million views and number two on the official Beatport charts, making it the first Psytrance track to ever make it into the Beatport Top 10. The popularity at festivals followed through the increasing use of psy-trance productions in DJ sets. At the same time, there were over 220 appearances at festivals such as A State Of Trance, Tomorrowland and the Sunburn GOA. The follow-up singles We Are the Creators and Colors could not follow the commercial success.

At the end of 2016, Vini Vici published a collaboration with Armin van Buuren, in which Hilight Tribe again participated. The song is titled Great Spirit . They reached the top 5 on Beatport and had over a million views within 2 weeks. The track received support from all great DJs. In addition, Great Spirit was remixed by the Dutch hardstyle producer Wildstylez , which also enabled the song to enter that category. Armin van Buuren himself said of the collaboration: “I've wanted to work with Vini Vici since you started this music scene. Few musicians have such a well-defined recognition value. "

In 2017 they started with the songs FKD up Kids and In & Out . The latter was created in collaboration with Emok, Martin Vice and Off Limits. In July 2017 they released the song Ravers Army , with which they took a step towards techno music. On July 15, 2017, the Belgian DJ duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike Vini brought Vici onto the stage during their performance at the Airbeat One Festival in Germany to present a joint production.

On July 27, 2017, the Dutch DJ duo W&W published an official teaser of their collaboration Chakra with Vini Vici. The song is based heavily on her psychedelic trance style, which was the main reason why the song was suspected to be released under W & W's trance-side project NWYR. At Tomorrowland 2017, W&W brought Saharai onto the stage at the beginning of the song to perform the track together. The song was released as a single on September 18, 2017.

The collaboration with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, which premiered last year, was released as a single on April 6, 2018. This is called The House of House and is based on the song of the same name by Cherrymoon Trax from 2003. Cherrymoon Trax were also specified as a feature. Shortly afterwards, the American DJ and producer Steve Aoki decoupled his collaboration with the duo from his EP 5OKI . The song is titled Moshi Moshi and features additional vocals from Aoki's mother.
