Vinton Beckett
Vinton Beckett ( Vinton Ruth Beckett; born June 12, 1923 in Kingston ) is a former Jamaican high jumper , long jumper and hurdler .
In 1946 she won silver in the high jump at the Central America and Caribbean Games .
At the 1948 Olympic Games in London, she was fourth in the high jump and eleventh in the long jump . She was eliminated in the pre-run over 80 m hurdles .
In 1950 she won the Central American and Caribbean Games in the high jump and took silver in the 80 m hurdles .
Her personal best in the high jump of 1.625 m she set in June 1948 in Kingston .
