The St. Vincent Church (Polish: Kościół św. Wincentego à Paulo ) in Kraków is a Catholic church at ul. Św. Filipa 17–19 in the Kleparz district . The church is located on the north corner of the elongated Kleparz market square .

history

At the place of the St. Vincent Church stood the Gothic Church of St. Philip and St. James, which can be traced back to 1373 and burned down in 1528 and during the Swedish Flood . The new church was consecrated in 1667, but burned down again in 1755. The rebuilt church was demolished in 1801 and a cemetery was created in the place of the church. The Lazarists came to Kleparz in 1861 and soon after acquired the property. Filip Pokutyński built the current church for them between 1875 and 1877 in neo-Gothic style based on the model of the Italian Trecento . Jan Sas-Zubrzycki expanded the church between 1911 and 1912. The main altar from 1935 goes back to Franciszek Mączyński . In the side altar there is a baroque painting of the crucifixion scene, which was transferred to Lemberg in 1945 and restored by Wiktor Zin . The Lourdes Chapel also goes back to Franciszek Mączyński.
