Violeta Quesada

Violeta Quesada Díaz (born July 11, 1947 in Santa Clara ) is a former Cuban athlete .

Quesada won the Pan American Games in Winnipeg in 1967 together with Marcia Garbey , Cristina Echeverría and Miguelina Cobián in the 4 x 100 meter relay and finished seventh in the 200 meter run . In the same year she was second in the Central America and Caribbean Championships in Xalapa over 200 meters.

At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, Quesada won the silver medal behind the United States and ahead of the Soviet Union in the 4-by-100-meter relay together with Marlene Elejarde , Fulgencia Romay and Miguelina Cobián. She also started in the 100-meter run , but was eliminated in the quarter-finals.

In 1969 Quesada again finished second in the 200-meter run at the Central American and Caribbean Championships in Havana. She achieved the same result the following year at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Panama City.
