Marcia Garbey

Marcia Garbey ( Marcia Alejandra Garbey Momtell ; born February 9, 1949 in Santiago de Cuba ) is a former Cuban long jumper , high jumper , sprinter and pentathlete .

At the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1966, she won bronze in the long jump.

In 1967 she won the Central American and Caribbean Athletics Championships in the high jump and took silver in the long jump. At the Pan American Games in Winnipeg she was sixth in the long jump and won the 4-by-100-meter relay .

In 1968 she retired in the long jump at the Olympic Games in Mexico City in the qualification. In 1969 she won silver again in the long jump at the Central American and Caribbean Championships.

At the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1970, she won the long jump and won silver in the pentathlon. 1971 followed silver in the long jump and bronze in the pentathlon at the Central American and Caribbean Championships and a seventh place in the long jump at the Pan American Games in Cali .

At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, she was fourth in the long jump. Also in the long jump, she won the Central American and Caribbean Championships in 1973 and the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1974 and was fifth at the Pan American Games in 1975 in Mexico City.

In 1972 she became Polish champion in the long jump. She set her personal best in this discipline of 6.62 m on September 5, 1975 in Havana .
