Viscount Bledisloe
Viscount Bledisloe , of Lydney in the County of Gloucester , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .
The family's ancestral home is in Lydney Park near Lydney in Gloucestershire .
Award
The title was created on June 24, 1935 for the conservative politician Charles Bathurst, 1st Baron Bledisloe . He had previously been Governor General of New Zealand .
Subordinate title
The first Viscount had been raised to Baron Bledisloe , of Lydney in the County of Gloucester on October 15, 1918 . This title, which also belongs to the Peerage of the United Kingdom, is now listed as a subordinate title.
