Other titles

The 5th Baron was raised to Viscount Bourchier in 1446 and Earl of Essex in 1461 . Both titles were hereditary only in the male line and expired on the death of the 6th Baron. For the 8th Baron, the title Earl of Essex was created again in 1572 . This expired on the death of the 10th Baron in 1646. All the titles mentioned also belonged to the Peerage of England.
