Earl of Kellie is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of Scotland .

The Earls' family seat is Kellie Castle near Arncroach in Fife .

Award, subordinate and other titles

The title was created on March 12, 1619 for Thomas Erskine, 1st Viscount Fentoun , along with the subordinate title Lord Dirletoun . He was Captain of the Guard and Groom of the Stool for King James VI. Already on July 8, 1604, he was raised to Lord Erskine of Dirletoun , also in the Peerage of Scotland, and on March 18, 1606 to Viscount (of) Fentoun .

The 8th Earl also inherited the title of 8th Baronet , of Cambo in 1797 , which was created on Aug 20, 1666 in the Baronetage of Nova Scotia.
