Viscount Savage
Viscount Savage was a British title of nobility in the Peerage of England .
The Viscount family residence was Rocksavage near Runcorn in Cheshire .
Award and history of the title
The title was created on November 4, 1626 for Sir Thomas Savage, 2nd Baronet . In 1615 he had inherited the subordinate title of Baronet , of Rocksavage in the County of Chester, from his father John Savage , which was awarded to him on June 29, 1611 in the Baronetage of England.
His son, the 2nd Viscount, also inherited his maternal grandfather, Thomas Darcy, 1st Earl Rivers , as 2nd Earl Rivers , 2nd Viscount Colchester and 2nd Baron Darcy of Chiche in 1640 . All of his titles finally expired on the death of his grandson, the 5th Earl, on May 9, 1735.
