William Slim, 1st Viscount Slim

Viscount Slim , of Yarralumla in the Capital Territory of Australia and of Bishopston in the City and County of Bristol , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Award

The title was awarded to Field Marshal Sir William Slim on July 15, 1960, on the occasion of his retirement from the office of British Governor General of Australia .
