Vittorio De Sisti

Vittorio De Sisti (born November 23, 1940 in Darna , Libya , † April 22, 2006 in Rome ) was an Italian sound engineer and director .

Life

De Sisti was born in Libya and has worked as a sound engineer for film since 1962. In 1966, after graduating from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia , he was assistant director to Marco Bellocchio and began making documentaries . When he switched to the feature film sector in 1968, he gave up his career as a sound engineer; as a director he achieved successes such as Fiorina la vacca and Lezioni private .

In 1979 De Sisti went to television, where he had a good number of audience hits. Only occasionally did he create cinema works, such as the touching Volare in 1997 ! about the childhood dream of becoming a pilot in the 1950s.

His television mini-series Casa Cecilia received the “Premio Naxos” for best director in 1983. In the new millennium he had success with two television series , Orgoglio and Gente di mare .
