history

The first known source about Vivodina dates back to the 14th century. These sources tell us that Vivodina was a free district - justice (iudicatus) - and proclaimed it as the "brotherhood of noble men." It had a position of an independent district until the 16th century. Vivodina was first mentioned by name in September 22, 1321.

There was a primary school in Vivodina only in the 19th century. This was opened on November 18, 1862.

wine growing

In 1889 a phylloxera attack destroyed two thirds of the vineyards. In 1892 the ruined vineyards were treated with serum and seedlings were planted with new American cuttings.

traffic

It was not until 1901 that a road from the Kupa River towards Vivodina was built with the construction of the Metlika - Bubnjarci - Karlovac railway line .

Attractions

The parish church of Sveti Lovro was built from 1753 to 1757 by order of the Baroness Vojnovica-Jelacica. From here you have a beautiful view over the county .
