Vladimir Bernstein
Vladimir Bernstein , also Vladimiro Bernstein, (born July 13, 1900 in Saint Petersburg , † January 23, 1936 in Milan ) was a Russian-born Italian mathematician who dealt with analysis.
Life
Bernstein came to France via Finland and England in 1919, where he studied mathematics at the Sorbonne . He taught at the University of Geneva and came to Italy in 1931, where he taught at the University of Milan . He died as a result of an injury that he suffered while fleeing Russia.
He dealt with entire functions and Dirichlet series .
In 1935 he received the Mathematics Prize of the Accademia dei XL .
