Vladimir Ilic

Vladimir Ilic (born February 20, 1973 ) is a German American football coach and former player.

career

As a teenager, Ilic played for the Berlin Bears and the Berlin Adlers . With the men's team of the eagles, the 1.95 meter tall player used in defense became German champions in 1990 and 1992. In 1994 he moved to the Hamburg Blue Devils and became German champions with the Hanseatic League (1996) and Eurobowl winners (1996 and 1997). In 1998 he was on the field for the Braunschweig Lions and also won the German championship with the Lower Saxony. Ilic returned to Hamburg in 1999, played again in Braunschweig in 2000 and then became German champions again with the Hamburg Blue Devils in 2001, 2002 and 2003. Ilic made it into the World League of American Footballor the NFL Europe , where he was under contract in addition to his playing in the Bundesliga with the teams Barcelona Dragons  (1995 and 1996), Rhein Fire  (1997), Frankfurt Galaxy (1999) and Berlin Thunder (1999). With Frankfurt he won the World Bowl . Ilic was also used in the German national team.

From 2006 to 2008 he was part of the coaching staff of the Hamburg Huskies , then from 2009 to 2011 of the Hamburg Blue Devils, in 2012 he joined the Hamburg Pioneers as a coach . At the 2014 European Championship, Ilic was in charge of the defense of the German national team, which won gold at the tournament.
