Vladislav Bláha

Vladislav Bláha (* 1957 ) is a Czech guitarist and music teacher.

Career

Bláha studied at the Brno Conservatory with Arnošt Sádlík and continued his education at the Liszt School of Music in Weimar with Roland Zimmer . In 2004 he obtained his doctorate from the Janáček Music Academy in Bratislava. He also attended master classes from Costas Cotsiolis and Abel Carlevaro and studied in England with Gordon Crosskey and John Duarte .

Since 2009 Bláha has been a lecturer at the Janáček Music Academy in Brno, and he also teaches at the city's conservatory. He is President of the Czech Society for Classical Guitar and Director of the International Guitar Competition in Brno. He gave master classes and performed at international guitar festivals. The composers John Duarte, Nikita Koschkin , Francis Kleynjans , Milan Tesař , Antonín Tučapský , Carlos Atilano and Miloš Štědroň wrote works for him. He played several CDs with solo works for guitar, chamber music and guitar concerts.
