Antonín Tučapský

Antonín Tučapský (born March 27, 1928 in Opatovice , Czechoslovakia , † September 9, 2014 in Frimley , Surrey , England ) was a Czech composer and conductor .

He studied at the Masaryk University in Brno and was the conductor of the Moravian Women's Choir from 1964 to 1972. After confrontations with the Communist Party , he emigrated to Great Britain in 1975 and took a position as professor of composition at Trinity College of Music in London.

Antonín Tučapský's work is difficult to classify. However, it always remained tonal .
