The VLOW! was an international conference for architects and communication designers that took place every two years from 2008 in Bregenz . Experts from architecture, graphic and industrial design as well as advertising and marketing took part in the international conference.

conference

The aim of the congress was to show cooperation models between the creative industries and to promote new networks. Architecture and communication experts presented trends and experiences and participants exchanged views and met with potential clients from industry and commerce.

Premiere of the VLOW! was from April 25th to 27th, 2008 in the Festspielhaus Bregenz. The second VLOW! took place from April 22nd to 24th, 2010. In 2012 the VLOW! Relocated to autumn and took place from October 4th to 6th. The VLOW! was held from October 14th to 18th, 2014 and the next from October 27th to 29th, 2016. Hans-Joachim Gögl was responsible for the congress design and program management, moderated by Clemens Theobert Schedler.

The VLOW! biennially awarded the corporate design as "design in progress" to another outstanding design office. 2008 blottodesign, Berlin, 2010 NORM, Zurich, 2012 Alex Wiederin, New York, 2014 cyan, Berlin and 2016 Studio Feixen, Lucerne.

The name is derived from the English term "flow", which means something like creating or activity frenzy, lust for function, the feeling of being completely absorbed in an activity. Since in the cooperative, creative process the error, the wrong or the irritating is actually the right thing, there is a V instead of the F. And also because the VLOW! takes place in Vorarlberg. An integral part of the VLOW! was the open space. Everyone can present a topic to the plenary that they would like to discuss. Afterwards, the conference participants meet in groups to discuss the various topics. The Open Space offers the opportunity to present your own profession, exchange experiences and find new partners.
