Vodafone Greece is the second largest Greek cell phone company .

Vodafone Greece was founded in 1992 as Panafon. The company was a joint venture formed by Vodafone , France Telecom , Intracom and Data Bank. The prepaid cards were marketed as a la carte .

In December 1998 the company went public on the Athens Stock Exchange . In January 2002 Panafon was renamed Vodafone GR. In July 2004 there was a withdrawal from the Athens Stock Exchange because the Vodafone Group Plc. 99.8 percent of the shares held. It has the network prefixes 694 and 695.
