Vodafone Iceland is the brand name of the private Icelandic telecommunications and media company Sýn hf. , formerly Fjarskipti . It is franchisee of Vodafone .

After taking over large parts of the media company 365 miðlar at the end of 2017, the company employs over 500 people. Vodafone Iceland competes with the former state-owned telecommunications company Síminn . In 2006 the company achieved sales of 140 million US dollars (around 106 million euros).

Vodafone Iceland offers landline and mobile telephony as well as Internet services for private and corporate customers. From 365 miðlar, Sýn took over several television and radio stations in 2017, including Iceland's largest and oldest private television station Stöð 2 , as well as the news website visir.is .

In 2003 the companies TAL , Halló-Frjáls Fjarskipti and Íslandssími merged as OgVodafone , which was renamed Vodafone Iceland in 2006 .
