Description and history
The facility was located about one kilometer east of Wildbach at the tip of a north-east facing mountain spur, which is protected in the east, south and west by the Zwickauer Mulde river. Barely 200 meters to the west are the ruins of the Isenburg on the neighboring spur . Due to its topographical location, Vogelherd Castle must be counted as a spur castle. It had an oval core work of about 13 by 15 meters. There is a surrounding terrace about four meters below the core plant . On April 30, 1969, the complex was placed under protection as a ground monument.
