Bailiwick of Murnau

The Vogtei Murnau was a Wittelsbach Vogtei based on the castle in Murnau , a municipality in what is now the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district .

Murnau Castle and Palace

When the Wittelsbach bailiff ended cannot be proven. It is not clear in the sources whether it was at the transition from Murnau to Ettal Abbey in 1332 or later. The castle or bailiwick was not listed in the first book of the monastery founded in 1330 in the middle of the 14th century.

  • Albero III. von Bruckberg and his son (documented evidence from 1275 and 1295)
  • Otto von Eurasburg (mentioned in a document dated April 5, 1322)
  • Berthold von Seefeld (nephew of Otto von Eurasburg, died 1324, and his successor)
  • Jordan von Murnau, from the Häring family (documented 1333)
