The Voisin C23 is a car that was built between 1931 and 1936 by the French aviation pioneer Gabriel Voisin in his company Aéroplanes G. Voisin .
history
Gabriel Voisin designed the C23 with the aim of designing a car that is between the smaller 13CV and the larger 33CV. These wagons served as a template so that the design could be easily integrated into the existing product range.
design
The design of the Voisin models had remained almost unchanged since 1925. Influenced by the designs of the architect Le Corbusier , the bodies of this era give the impression of a cubist work of art. They looked as if three boxes (engine compartment, passenger compartment, trunk) had been joined together on the drawing board. Also very noticeable on the C23 are the cuboids behind the wheel arches.
Motorization
For the engine, Voisin relied on the conventional Knight double slide engine technology with 2994 cm³. This helped the C23 to achieve an output of 66 kW at a speed of 3000 min −1 and a top speed of around 130 km / h.
