VolkerWessels is a Dutch construction and plant engineering company . It is the second largest Dutch construction company after the BAM group .

The owners are the Wessels family (42.5%), CVC Capital Partners (42.5%) and the leading employees (15%).

history

The parent company Volker goes back to a predecessor from 1854. In 1978 the company merged with the Stevin Groep to form Volker Stevin , and in 1997 with Kondor Wessels to form Volker Wessels Stevin . The company name was changed to VolkerWessels in 2002.

Buildings

The company built well-known structures such as the Oosterschelde storm surge barrier or the Newcastle – Gateshead Millennium Bridge .

subsidiary company

The submarine cable laying company Visser & Smit Marine Contracting is a 50% subsidiary of VolkerWessels. Boskalis owns the other half of the shares .
