Volker Friedrich (born March 13, 1963 in Bottrop ) is a freelance management consultant specializing in internationalization, business coach, private lecturer and a former German swimmer .

Career

Friedrich became German champion in 1981 with the 4x200m freestyle relay of SG Gladbeck with Michael Kraus , Dirk Korthals and Frank Wennmann . A year later he graduated from high school on Horster Straße (today Janusz Korczak Comprehensive School ). After his active swimming career, he was a swimming trainer in Bottrop for a few years. In 1991 he completed his studies in economics with a degree in economics at the Gerhard Mercator University in Duisburg and worked in the industrial plant division of the Klöckner Group and at the management consultancy Roland Berger.

Friedrich has been an independent business consultant since 1997. His company, GBP International , is based in Malaysia . Before that, he worked as a senior consultant at Roland Berger & Partner in Munich from 1994 to 1997 . His company GBP INTERNATIONAL is a member of the business associations BWA and BVMW and represents them in Asia.

From 2010 to 2015 Volker Friedrich was a member of the supervisory board of MOX Telecom AG, Ratingen. Furthermore, Volker Friedrich is a member of the board of directors of the Malaysia Europe Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and a sought-after expert on topics in and around Asia at management events, in specialist magazines and television programs.

In autumn 2016, Volker Friedrich was offered a professorship at the private university IUBH in Berlin.

Volker Friedrich is married and has two children.
