Volker Heuer

Volker Heuer (born February 8, 1953 in Paderborn , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German manager . From August 1, 2004 to September 30, 2011 he was CEO of Tognum AG and CEO of MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH.

Career

After studying mechanical engineering, he joined Daimler-Benz AG in 1977 as a designer for body development in the commercial vehicle sector.

From 1980 he held various management positions in the Group's development department. This year, initially at Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, he was the head of the body design department . Three years later he took over the commercial vehicle development liaison department at Mercedes-Benz Argentina and, from 1988, the main body development department for light trucks and vans in Sindelfingen . In Untertürkheim he was later appointed director for the development of light trucks and vans . From 1996 he headed the Vitoria and Barcelona Product Service Centers of Mercedes-Benz España, where the Mercedes-Benz Vito and Viano series are manufactured.

MTU

On August 1, 2004, Volker Heuer took over the management of the DaimlerChrysler Off-Highway division as well as the chairmanship of the management of MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH, replacing Rolf Hanssen, who is retiring for reasons of age. With the founding of the Tognum Holding, he was named CEO. On September 30, 2011, he left the company.

Private

Volker Heuer is married, has two sons and lives in Markdorf on Lake Constance. His hobby is sailing in his own boat and in the past he was an active glider pilot .
