Volker Krappen

Volker Krappen (born December 10, 1963 in Hamburg ) is a German author and film producer.

Life

Volker Krappen studied fine arts and German in Hamburg. From 1994 he worked as a copywriter, since 2000 as a book and screenwriter. In 2001 he founded the film production facility Krebs & Krappen in Hamburg together with the young producer Claudia Krebs.

He was the screenwriter and co-producer of the adventure feature film Lapis Lazuli - In the Eye of the Bear, which premiered at the 2006 Berlinale . The film was shown in theaters by 20th Century Fox and received the Audience Award for Best Children's Film at the Mill Valley Film Festival San Francisco in 2006. The romantic comedy Woran Dein Herz hangs was first broadcast in 2009, produced for Erste Deutsche Fernsehen . In 2010, the romantic TV drama Half Eternity was created based on his script . The film premiered at the Munich Film Festival in 2011, and Cornelia Froboess received a nomination for the Hessian TV Prize 2011 for Best Actress . He wrote the script for the TV film Little Ships produced in 2012 . The film was nominated nationally for the Jupiter Award 2014 as best TV feature film . He wrote the script for Tatort - Kaltstart , which first aired in 2014 (with co-author Raimund Maessen). He wrote and produced the TV film Four Having a Child , which was first broadcast in 2015 . His comedy Vadder, Kutter, Sohn premiered at the Munich Film Festival 2017 (under the title Unfortunately related ) and premiered in 2017.
