Volker Lehnert

Volker Lehnert (born April 20, 1956 in Saarbrücken ) is a German painter , draftsman , graphic artist , art teacher and university professor.

Life

After graduating from high school in Saarbrücken, Lehnert studied fine arts, art history and German studies at the University of Mainz (Academy of Fine Arts) from 1976 to 1981 . He completed his training with the first and second state examinations for the artistic teaching profession.

From 1996 to 2000 he taught as a professor for drawing at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Krefeld . In 2000 he was appointed professor for general artistic training at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart . He has been the university's prorector since 2007. He lives in Stuttgart and Witten . Volker Lehnert is married to the artist and university professor Bettina van Haaren .
