Volker M. Banholzer

Volker Markus Banholzer is a German communication and media scientist with a research focus on innovation communication , journalism cultures in Germany and Sweden, and the design discourse on Industry 4.0 . Since 2010 he has been a professor and head of the technical journalism / technology PR course at the Technical University of Nuremberg .

Life

Between 1989 and 1995, Banholzer completed a high school teaching degree in German, social studies and economics and a master's degree in political science , modern German literary history and Christian journalism at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg . After completing his master's degree , he worked as a freelance journalist for various news agencies and daily newspapers (1995–1998) and from 1997 to 1998 research assistant in the Christian Journalism department at the Institute for Practical Theology at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.

After Banholzer between 1998 and 2010 worked for various companies in the communications sector and at the same time as a lecturer in Public Relations at the Department of Communication Sciences of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (1998-2005) as well as for technical journalism / Technology PR, journalism, journalism at at the Georg-Simon-Ohm University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg , he was appointed professor and course director for technical journalism / technology PR at the Technical University of Nuremberg in 2010.

In the 2017 summer semester, Banholzer was a lecturer for science communication / technology and innovation communication at the Technical University of Dresden , where he gave a lecture on science communication on behalf of the Dresden Institute for Communication Studies .
