Volker Meid

Volker Meid (born May 8, 1940 in Darmstadt ) is a German literary scholar and editor of standard works on German literature .

Life

Meid taught from 1970 to 1982 as a professor of German literature at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst / USA, in Freiburg and Bielefeld . In addition to his work as an editor of general essays on German literature, Meid is particularly known for his research into literature from the early modern and baroque periods .
