Volker Ziegenhagen (born November 2, 1944 in Ströbitz ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper . He played for BSG Energie Cottbus in the GDR league .

Career

In his youth, Ziegenhagen played for his hometown club SV Empor / Aufbau Ströbitz and for ASK Vorwärts Cottbus , before joining BSG activist Brieske-Senftenberg in 1962 , where he stayed until 1963. He then completed his military service and played for the first and second teams of ASK Vorwärts Cottbus. In 1965 he went back to his homeland club for a season and in 1966 was committed by the BSG activist Brieske-Ost . Ziegenhagen played there until 1972, when BSG Energie Cottbus signed him. In his first season in the second-rate GDR soccer league 1972/73 he was used in 13 games. After rising to the GDR league, Ziegenhagen completed six games. He made his debut on August 22, 1973 when he guarded the goal on matchday two against BSG Chemie Leipzig . The game ended 3: 3, with the 2-0 opening goal for Chemie being an own goal by Ziegenhagen. On the 8th matchday he was substituted for Siegfried Franz in the 65th minute when Lok Leipzig led 0: 6. Ziegenhagen only had to accept one goal. After another season in the GDR league, in which he only played one game, he ended his career in 1975. He then worked as a coach for various youth teams from Energie Cottbus.
