Volkmar Billeb (* 1939 in Dessau ) is a German photographer .

Professional background

Volkmar Billeb studied photography at the University of Graphics and Book Art in Leipzig and graduated with a degree in photography . From 1962 to 1991 he worked as an editorial photographer, department head and foreign correspondent for various Berlin publishers. Since 1991 Billeb has been working as a freelance photographer specializing in architectural photography and has contributed to around 40 publications. In addition, he illustrated around 140 editions of the series Castles and Gardens of the Mark for the Friends of the Palaces and Gardens of the Mark . He also owns a collection of historical cameras.

Volkmar Billeb was a member of the German jury of the Wiki Loves Monuments photo competition several times as an external juror .

Exhibitions

In June 2014 the exhibition Frostige Zeiten took place in the gallery of the Kulturhaus Karlshorst .

In October 2017, the Pyramid Exhibition Center in Hellersdorf presented its photographs from the late Soviet Union under the motto ZEITZEICHEN.
