The Volksbank Hochrhein eG is a cooperative bank based in Waldshut-Tiengen . With more than 24,000 members, it is the largest membership association in the region.

The business area of ​​Volksbank Hochrhein extends from Albbruck to Jestetten along the Rhine to Schluchsee and Bonndorf in the Black Forest .

history

In 1867 the two independent Volksbanks Waldshut and Tiengen were founded. At the end of the 19th century, more cooperatively organized Volksbanks and Raiffeisenbanks were founded .

In 1969 the Volksbank Hochrhein was founded and merged with the Volksbanken Waldshut and Tiengen. In the same year, Volksbank Hochrhein merged with Volksbank Dangstetten. Further mergers were completed in 1976 with Spar- und Kreditbank Hohentengen, 1977 with Spar- und Kreditbank Lauchringen, 1986 with Volksbank Bonndorf-Stühlingen and 1987 with Volksbank Birkendorf. In 1995 the St. Blasien branch was acquired by Volksbank Freiburg.

The last merger took place in 2013 with Volksbank Jestetten.

In 2017 Volksbank Hochrhein celebrated its 150th anniversary.
