history

On January 18, 1903, the Ochtrup savings and loan association registered cooperative with unlimited liability was founded. Business was carried out on the premises of the Ochtrup dairy, purchasing and sales cooperative at Gronauer Straße 52. In 1917 the cooperative moved into the first rented office space at Kirchplatz 2. On January 8, 1946, it changed its name to Spar- und Kreditkasse Ochtrup eGmbH . In 1951 the bank moved into a newly built bank building at Bergstrasse 13. On August 27, 1952, the bank merged with the Welbergen-Langenhorster savings and loan association founded in 1906. In 1965 the bank moved to the former park property Laurenz, Bergstrasse 6, which is still the seat of Volksbank Ochtrup eG today. In 1989 the bank merged with Volksbank Wettringen eG. In 1999 the subsidiary Volksbank Ochtrup eG and Grünewald & Niesing Immobilienservice GmbH was founded. Since September 4, 2017, Volksbank Ochtrup eG and Volksbank Laer-Horstmar-Leer eG have been a bank with the new name Volksbank Ochtrup-Laer eG.

Volksbank Ochtrup-Laer eG has a branch in Wettringen, Laer, Horstmar and Leer and a branch in Welbergen. The bank also has two self-service locations in Langenhorst and on Bahnhofstrasse.

Cooperations

The bank cooperates with the affiliated companies of the cooperative financial network and is a member of the deposit protection fund of the Federal Association of German Volksbanks and Raiffeisenbanks.
