Edmund von Oefele
Edmund Freiherr von Oefele (born December 6, 1843 in Ziegetsdorf , † November 24, 1902 in Munich ) was a German historian and Bavarian archivist .
life and work
After studying history, Edmund Freiherr von Oefele became Reich Archives Assessor of the Royal Bavarian General Reich Archives , and its director from 1895 to 1902. He was co-author of numerous articles in the Allgemeine Deutsche Biographie . He was editor of the Upper Bavarian Archives from 1880 to 1891.
In recognition of his achievements, he was made an extraordinary member of the historical class of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences in 1888.
