People's newspaper (Kronstadt)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The "People's Newspaper - Organ of the Regional Party Committee and the Stalin Regional People's Council" was a German-language weekly newspaper in Brașov (formerly Kronstadt), Romania. It was published from March 30, 1957 to March 1, 1968.

The subtitle of the newspaper name is a consequence of the then official name of the city. Brașov was officially called Orașul Stalin ( Stalin City) from 1951 to 1961 as a result of the personality cult around Stalin .

The editor-in-chief was Eduard Eisenburger , at that time the highest party functionary of the German minority in Romania. The publication following the Volkszeitung was the " Karpatenrundschau - weekly journal for society, politics and culture".
