Eduard Eisenburger

Eduard Eisenburger (born April 4, 1928 in Tărpiu ( German  stairs ), Kingdom of Romania ; † August 3, 1990 in Brașov (German Kronstadt ), Romania ) was a Romanian politician , author and editor-in-chief of various Romanian-German magazines in Romania.

Life

Eduard Eisenburger came from the ethnic group of the Transylvanian Saxons and was a member of the Romanian National Assembly , the Council of State, the Central Committee of the Romanian Communist Party and chairman of the Council of the Working People of German Nationality .

Eisenburger was editor-in-chief of the Volkszeitung magazine . In this function, Eisenburger described in a report from August 11, 1959, the writer who worked for the Volkszeitung and sentenced Hans Bergel to 15 years of forced labor in the Kronstadt writer trial in the same year as “a perfidious and hostile element” and a journalist who represented “impartial positions” and "Occasionally smuggled in nationalist ideas". After the paper was closed, Eisenburger founded the Karpatenrundschau with the editors of the Volkszeitung on March 1, 1968 .
