Hannelore Baier

Hannelore Baier (* 1955 in Sighișoara , German  Schäßburg , People's Republic of Romania ) is a Romanian-German journalist and historian .

Life

Hannelore Baier studied psychology at the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj until 1979 . From 1980 to 1984 she worked in the psychiatric department of the Spitalul Municipal Hospital “Dr. Ghe. Marinescu “Târnăveni busy. Between 1984 and 1993 she worked several times as an editor for the newspaper Neuer Weg (since 1993 Allgemeine Deutsche Zeitung für Romania ) in Hermannstadt ( Romanian Sibiu ). In 1990 Baier held the office of Executive Secretary of the Democratic Forum of Germans in Romania for 9 months . In 1993 she researched for one year at the Institute for Social and Human Sciences, Sibiu. Between 1998 and 2001 she was employed as a research assistant at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Romania in Bucharest .

As a historian, Baier has been working since 1990 on essays and document collections on the recent history of Germans in Romania , which have been published in German and Romanian journals.
