Peter-Dietmar Leber

Peter-Dietmar Leber (* 1959 in Sânnicolau Mare ( German  Großsanktnikolaus ), People's Republic of Romania ) has been the German national board of directors of the Banat Swabian country team since 2011 .

Life

Leber graduated from high school in his hometown in 1978 and then served 18 months in the Armata Română . In 1980 he moved to West Germany . After a one-year special course to recognize the German university entrance qualification at the Zeppelin-Gymnasium Stuttgart , Leber studied modern history, politics, sociology and economics in Tübingen and Munich . At the end of his studies he worked as a typist in the editorial office of the Banater Post .

In 1989 Leber was elected to the board of the German Banat Youth and since that year he has also been a consultant to the national board of the Landsmannschaft der Banat Swabia . From 1991 to 2009 he was the first chairman of the hometown community Great Saint Nicholas. Leber has been an honorary federal board member and full-time federal manager of the Landsmannschaft since 2011. He also held positions in the Association of Expellees and in the Cultural Association of Banat Germans.

In 2018 he received the Romanian National Order for Faithful Service in Ulm with the rank of commander .
