Ingmar Brantsch

Ingmar Brantsch ( pseudonym : Hermann Eris , born October 30, 1940 in Brașov / Transylvania , † October 31, 2013 in Cologne ) was a Romanian-German writer .

Life

Ingmar Brantsch was the son of a Romanian-German teacher couple. From 1957 to 1962 he studied German , Romance and Slavic studies at the University of Bucharest . He completed his studies with the state examination and worked from 1962 to 1964 as an editor and librarian in the Bucharest House of the Press and from 1964 to 1970 as a high school teacher in Brașov. In 1970 he moved to the Federal Republic of Germany . He graduated from 1970 to 1976 at the universities in Cologne and Bonn further study in the subjects German, history , philosophy , Protestant theology and pedagogy . In Cologne he was active in the student body and in the student parliament without joining a (political) group. After passing the state examination , he did his legal clerkship at a school in Gummersbach from 1976 to 1978 . Since 1978 he lived in Cologne , where he remained until 1987 Studienassessor until his retirement in 2007 as and from 1987 teacher at night school Cologne worked. As part of this activity, he taught inmates of the Cologne penal institution . He continued teaching in the prison until 2012 after his retirement. One day after his 73rd birthday, Ingmar died in a Cologne hospital.

Ingmar Brantsch is the author of short stories , satires , reports , essays , aphorisms , poems , dramas and radio plays .

Ingmar Brantsch was a member of the Romanian Writers' Union ; he belonged u. a. the PEN Center for German-Speaking Authors Abroad , the Association of German Writers , the Esslingen Artists 'Guild , the Regensburg Writers' Group International and the Cologne Literary Society . In 1968 Brantsch received the Poetry Prize of the Junge Akademie Stuttgart and in 1987 the Siegburg Literature Prize .
