Volturnus

Volturnus was a god of flowing waters in the Roman religion .

Presumably it originated from a Samnite cult. Other sources equate it with the Tiber .

His festival, the Volturnalia , was celebrated on August 27th. He had his own flamen as a priest (flamen Volturnalis) .
