Von Behring is an impact crater on the eastern edge of the front of the moon , east of Langrenus crater and west of Kästner . The crater is moderately eroded.
The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1979 after the German bacteriologist and Nobel Prize winner Emil von Behring .
