The Rähmerbach pre-basin is a pre-basin of the Eibenstock dam . It was built at the same time as the main dam and put into operation on November 4, 1981.
The dam is a rubble dam with an inclined inner seal made of clay, over which a road leads; he dams the Rähmerbach. The reservoir serves to pre-purify the water flowing into the main dam and thus the drinking water supply . It is located on the north-western outskirts of Eibenstock .
In the reservoir there is an extraction tower with a circular flood overflow . The overflowing water flows through a tunnel under the dam.
