The meeting and demonstration service is a task of the judicial police station regulated by state law and includes in particular the transfer of a prisoner to a court , usually the competent criminal court , for the purpose of personal presence at a court hearing by law enforcement officers , law enforcement officers or police officers .

Demonstration service is common both with the police and - above all - with the judiciary . Who makes the demonstration depends on whose custody the person to be demonstrated is in.

Under certain circumstances, a prisoner transport by prisoner vehicle (GefKw) is necessary for the demonstration . In some cases, prisoners from the police detention cells are also taken to the court. The demonstration pliers, a simple handcuff , are used for the demonstration . According to the StPO , the prisoner is to be left unbound at the main hearing .

During the demonstration service, which is originally carried out by the police station , the prisoners are led from a detention cell into the meeting room . The demonstration service is usually followed by the meeting service . This does not apply if a so-called symbolic demonstration takes place.
