Vortex in Carowinds ( Charlotte , North Carolina , USA ) is a steel roller coaster model Stand-Up Coaster by the manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard , which opened on March 14, 1992, one year before Paramount bought the park. It was the third roller coaster from Bolliger & Mabillard and includes a loop and a corkscrew on its short stretch .

layout

The journey begins by the passengers left in an unusual standing position the station and a 27-meter-high lift hill will be drawn up. A predrop typical of B&M ends the lift hill and initiates the ride into the curvy First Drop. The first drop is followed by the looping and an inclined upward and an inclined downward curve. A helix follows the downward curve before reaching the corkscrew. After a wide curve, the final brake brakes the train before it reaches the station.

Trains

Vortex has two trains with six cars each. Four people (one row) can be seated in each car.
